ANTS is a colony-care journal and community flight map operated from Florida by Dallas Taylor, operating as ArcosAnts, a personal brand and not a registered company. Contact is by email only: [email protected].
Who can use ANTS
ANTS is a U.S.-focused service. You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf. Keep your sign-in email and passkeys secure, and do not impersonate anyone.
The service
ANTS is provided as is and as available, to the extent permitted by law. Features can change, fail or stop, and we do not promise uptime or that records will be preserved. Keep your own exports of important information.
Care guides are general information with species and regional limits. You are responsible for lawful and appropriate care of your animals. Flight reports are observations submitted by keepers. Publication means a report passed review; it does not mean the species identification or flight was scientifically verified. Approval is not permission to collect, keep, transport or release ants. Do not rely on the map for legal, safety or scientific decisions.
Your content
You keep your rights in the records and photos you submit. You give us only the permission needed to store, process and display them to provide the service, including community sharing you choose and processing by our service providers. Private colony records stay private.
For a flight report that is Published when your account is deleted or terminated, you give us a continuing, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to keep showing it on the community map in anonymized form, with no link to your account, limited to its broad area and observation fields. Its personal note is cleared. Published reports are kept without your account link or note. Withdraw a report before deleting your account if you do not want it kept. Only submit content you have the right to share.
Acceptable use and moderation
Do not use ANTS for unlawful content, attacks, credential theft, impersonation or harassment. Do not submit other people’s private information or precise identifying locations. Do not bypass access controls or bulk-extract data.
We may ask for clarification on, reject or remove flight reports, and may suspend or close accounts that misuse the service. You can correct or withdraw your own reports.
If you disagree with a moderation decision or an account suspension, email [email protected] with the details. We will review it and reply within a reasonable time.
Price and ANTS Plus
ANTS is currently free. A paid plan called ANTS Plus is not yet available, and nothing you do today creates a charge or subscription. Before Plus goes on sale, we will add its price, billing, trial, renewal, cancellation and refund terms to these terms, and you will see them before you pay.
Leaving and account access
You can download your data and permanently delete your account in Account at any time. If you cannot access your account, email support (never send passwords or sign-in codes).
We may restrict or end access for misuse, or discontinue ANTS, subject to applicable law. Where practical we will give notice and a chance to export your data.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to ANTS.
To the extent permitted by law, the operator’s total liability for all claims arising from or related to ANTS is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, or any mandatory consumer rights you have.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Disputes will be heard in the courts located in Florida. If you use ANTS as a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory laws of the place where you live, or of any right to bring a claim in your local courts that those laws give you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they took effect. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use ANTS after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using ANTS and you may delete your account.
